Recipes
Sublime Delights recipes focus on ingredients and preperations commonly found in San Francisco cuisine. There is such an amazing world of food within the 7 square miles of San Francisco it would be difficult to find an ingredient, technique or dish not served here.
Sublime Delights really wants to encourage home cooks to take risks both in the complexity of recipes and the ingredients. There is a delightful range of flavors just beyond the ordinary. Seek out your local purveyors and leave florescent lights and shrink wrap behind.
Most of all have fun!
Slow Food
Sublime Delights is a very strong advocate of Slow Food. For any of us who are not familiar with this cuisine alternative please check out the Slow Food International website. Briefly Slow Food is in essence the opposite of Fast Food, in so far as, Fast Food is driven by mass production, industrialization, automation, and chemical abstration of food; Slow Food is not. Slow Food aims to support and promote local food artisans who produce food from naturally derived resources and techniques of production that are "tradiational." In this case the term traditional is intended to mean a methodology that depends upon natural processes (as opposed to industrial ones) to produce food. By choosing a natural and traditional path for food production the time to bring food to market is increased and the quantities of food produced are decreased--thus the term "slow" food. Although, this at first appears to be entirely counter intuitive Slow Food has proved itself the best way to produce food that is of superior quality, exceptionally flavorful, and has a minimal impact on the environment from which it comes.
